Paris remains recognizable, even as the image begins to fail.

At the center of this piece is the Eiffel Tower, the defining landmark of the Paris skyline and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Its iron lattice, symmetry, and vertical silhouette have become inseparable from the visual identity of the city.

For Artifact 003, that familiar image is treated like a damaged photograph recovered from a corrupted archive.

Sections of the tower remain intact while others break apart into rectangular compression artifacts, missing data, scanlines, distorted textures, and misaligned color. Film grain and distressed surfaces give the piece the character of an old photograph that has been copied, damaged, and reconstructed over time.

Muted red, blue, cream, and charcoal tones reference vintage French print and photographic palettes while keeping the artwork matte, aged, and imperfect.
